Line Editing

Line Editing focuses on keeping your tone while helping the flow of your project be seamless. It includes fixing incoherent text, repetitive word use, redundant sayings, and ambiguous text. It does NOT include character/plot development, manuscript evaluation, fact checking, and correcting grammar.
Copyediting
$0.02/word
Copyediting is the step after Line Editing and before Proofreading. It includes correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. Copyediting will do light fact checking of commonly known things and fix the layout/design. It does NOT include heavy fact checking, rewriting, plot/character development, and manuscript evaluation.
Proofreading

Proofreading is the last step in the editing stage. It is a surface check and corrects spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. It includes fact checking of obvious facts and making sure that the style guide is being followed. It does NOT include character/plot development, rewriting, fixing layout/design, changes to the style guide, and permissions for copyrighted materials.
